As part of its continued commitment to building sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural communities, the Assam Agroforestry Development Board (AADB) successfully distributed beekeeping boxes to farmers of Umsur Village, along the Assam–Meghalaya border in Kamrup district, under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) on 12 January 2026. The initiative promotes beekeeping as an eco-friendly, income-generating practice, while simultaneously enhancing pollination, crop yields, and farm resilience. The enthusiasm of participating farmers reflected a strong readiness to adopt apiculture as a viable allied agricultural enterprise.
