He is a highly accomplished professional with a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, and a Master’s degree in Geography from Gauhati University. He is also a Certified GIS and Remote Sensing Professional from the University of Toronto, Canada.

With over 15 years of extensive experience in the field of Geospatial Technology, Dr. Sarmah has contributed to a wide range of applications including natural resource management, environmental planning, climate change assessment, disaster management, and sustainable development. His expertise bridges both academic research and practical implementation, particularly in leveraging GIS and Remote Sensing for data-driven decision-making and policy formulation.

Dr. Sarmah has published more than 15 research papers in internationally reputed journals and has been actively involved in various multidisciplinary projects at regional, national, and international levels. His work reflects a strong commitment to promoting geospatial innovations for sustainable and nature-based solutions.
