The Bird’s Eye Chilli, locally called Dhaniya Jolokia, is one of the spiciest native chillies found in Assam. Grown mainly in the foothill regions of Dima Hasao, Karbi Anglong, and parts of Upper Assam, this small but mighty chilli packs an intense punch of heat and aroma.
Known for its fiery flavor and bright red color, it’s widely used in pickles, chutneys, and traditional curries. Besides its culinary appeal, Bird’s Eye Chilli is also valued for its antibacterial and digestive properties.
